The OAHU State Board of Directors is looking for motivated volunteers and leaders to help us pursue our mission of promoting access to quality care by a cooperative effort between consumers, agents, insurers, providers, the legal system and the government through effective legislation and educational programs.

Serving on the board often enriches the personal and professional lives of volunteers, and provides board members with the opportunity to meet accomplished industry professionals as well as network with up-and-coming talent.

Key points to consider when nominating candidates:

  • All OAHU members in good standing are eligible to submit names for consideration.
  • Nominated candidates should currently be OAHU Members in good standing or have completed NAHU membership application and selected OAHU has their state chapter.
  • Self-nomination is permitted and encouraged.

The following positions are open for nomination:

Elected Positions

President-Elect (three-year term)
Elected Position
The President-Elect, in the absence of the President, shall preside at all meetings of this Association and the Board of Directors and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President or Board of Directors.

Treasurer (two-year term)
Elected Position
The Treasurer shall be responsible for receiving all funds and dues paid to this Association.  The Treasurer shall chair the Budget Committee as appointed by the President and shall submit an Annual Budget for adoption by the Board of Directors by the first meeting of the fiscal year.


Appointed Positions

Per OAHU Bylaws, Article X, Section 2: The President shall appoint the chairs and members of all standing, special or ad hoc committees and task forces, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.

Awards Chair (one-year term)
Appointed Position
Successfully track and submit required data, activity, and milestones of the chapter in alignment with Awards Criteria provided by NAHU.

Convention Chair (one-year term)
Appointed Position
The Convention Chair is responsible for the planning and execution of the OAHU Annual State Convention.

HUPAC Chair (one-year term)
Appointed Position
The HUPAC Chair is responsible for promoting the OAHU PAC and HUPAC at all the state chapters and coordinate efforts to build the PACS with the Legislative Committee Chair and Lobbyist.

Professional Development Chair (one-year term)
Appointed Position
The purpose of the Professional Development Chair is to identify key areas of the market in need of course development that will be of value to the OAHU membership. The chair will work in coordination with the board to determine the venue and offerings.  The chair’s primary goal is to increase membership and chapter revenues by promoting education value. Ultimately along with improving the knowledge and expertise of the members by providing quality education, it is also providing a source of revenue and membership growth.
