Michael Westerfield, Regional Vice President - tip

As Regional Vice President for TIP, Michael works with advisors, producers and firms across the country to identify, design, and implement executive benefit strategies.

Drawing on years of experience in comprehensive, client facing financial planning, Michael partners with firms to help them move beyond simply presenting solutions. He provides his partners with a practical, repeatable process for proactively introducing new ideas and opening meaningful client and prospect conversations. By uncovering areas of unintentional discrimination within benefit programs and identifying opportunities to better reward, attract, and retain key talent, he helps firms deliver greater value to their clients while strengthening their own strategic relationships.

Michael combines strategic planning with deep product knowledge to navigate the complex, ever-changing marketplace, allowing firms to confidently identify and implement the most appropriate executive benefit solutions for each client’s unique objectives.

Whether a firm is highly engaged with executive benefits or just beginning to explore the opportunity, Michael helps create efficiencies, fulfill fiduciary responsibilities, and equip firms with the confidence to deliver thoughtful, proactive guidance that differentiates their practice.

Prior to joining TIP in 2019, Michael managed a financial advisory practice for 15 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 licenses, along with life and health insurance licenses.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, coaching and watching his children’s sports, tennis, and cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks
