OAHU members: Your new state association website is now GREATLY EXPANDED (www.orahu.org)! With the help of VanNatta Public Relations and especially Ruben Garcia, this website is quickly becoming your one stop source for all things OAHU. Also, a huge thank you to one of our own, Ruppert Reinstadler, for supplying the gorgeous photo image of our beautiful state. I still can't figure out where he was standing to capture all of Oregon in one shot. He is a man of many talents!
COOL NEW FEATURES
Online Event Enrollment
We are pleased, nay, overjoyed to announce that we now have online enrollment for OAHU events! Starting with State Convention this year, you can do everything to get registered with OAHU for our events including pay using our highly secure banking module (a major reason we chose StarChapter). Before you say "welcome to the late 90's", this addition is something we have needed for so long maybe we should all just party like it's 1999 that it is finally here!
Legislative Archive
You will also notice some additional features which will benefit members by keeping pertinent information neatly stored and archived for future use. The wonderful and informative legislative updates provided to us by Doug Barber of Lobby Oregon (http://www.lobbyoregon.com/) are a highly efficient way to stay up to speed during the session. Some members (Beyrouty) will now be able to stop printing and keeping each one in a vast and cumbersome collection of trapper keepers.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP?
I am asking each of you to do 5 things to help us align this website as our primary communication hub going forward:
- 1. Bookmark and refer to this site for all your OAHU information
- 2. Link in with OAHU on LinkedIn and help us to gain more of a presence on this great marketing tool for our association
- 3. Hit us up on Facebook. We ask that you still consider this page a professional reflection of OAHU but it is a great spot for some lighter banter, posting of photos from events, and staying in touch
- 4. Attend State Convention this year. It is going to be one of our best yet and we have been getting a ton of support from event sponsors who see this as a great chance to support OAHU so WE NEED YOU ALL THERE!
- 5. Enroll for State Convention online using this newly launched online event enrollment feature. It is secure, fast, and easy so please take advantage of it!
We are off to a great start and there are more features we are planning to steadily roll out but please share your feedback on the site and your suggestions for improvements using the "Contact Us" feature. Along with an elevated legislative effort, researching and launching this site was a major goal of the State Board this year. We have long lacked the coordinated communication that a website like this one can provide. I would like to personally thank each of the 2010-2011 board members for their help in removing the barriers and providing the vision for the creation of this important new tool in an expedited and efficient fashion!
